I am in the choir that won a opportunity to perform Wichita because we were one of the best 3 choirs in all of Kansas. I got car sick on the way there, but at least I didn't puke and we got to watch 3 movies to Wichita and back.
At the buffet we ate at was really cool! It had a chocolate fountain that you could dip Rice Krispies or marshmallows in , mini pies on cute square dishes, and tons of other cool things! I had a very nice lunch, and it was pretty entertaining too!
The big performance was really exciting! We performed in a room with yellow walls, and a flowery carpet. It was nice, but not as many people came as I expected. It was kind of nice, but not really a WOW performance. Then we had our pictures taken, the people that stood on the risers must have had fun because when you get your pictures taken they want to see your entire body, so they stood on real high steps. Unlucky for me because I had to stand on the floor.
The trip was a really fun experience! I think that choir is a fun way to sing and express your feelings.

A Pretty Cool Weekend
Today was a nice Sunday to enjoy. I got to make cheese cupcakes with my mom. They were our 3rd time making them and the most successful we've ever made and just to let us remember the recipe I have made the recipe in another post. I think baking is really fun and pretty interesting to add certain ingredients to other ingredients. We also made something cool that you might be interested in, but you'll only find out in my next post. Now listen to my story.
Today was Sunday and I got to go to the supermarket with my parents and no one else, but first we were heading to the Michaels craft store to get supplies for a project at school. I got 4 different kinds of felt and eyes for my project. I got 4 different colored pieces of felt and they were :
We went to the library and I saw the horrible ice rink again. It was only plastic and nothing else. When I got inside we returned the books in through the electric book slot. We checked out our books, played a while at the play station and said hi to our friends. After Nathan took one last look at the elevator we walked to the parking garage and drove home.
I practiced my piano and then went on to my project. It was almost complete. Then my dad said I had to leave for piano lessons.
I did very well on my piano and we went home and ate dinner. After a few touches all I needed was the last part of my project and I was done, though I saved it to do for tomorrow since on Monday was MLK day. Then I enjoyed my evening making cheese cupcakes.
Me and my mom made excellent cheese cupcakes that everyone loved and they were the best batch ever! They were tasty and tasted awesome, with a crust and a cheesy taste.
Then the next day I finished the last part of the project and I put the final touches to it.

A Letter For Mom
Dear Mommy,
I know you have not been satisfied with my effort, but to tell you I really like art. I hope you just understand that, and I will use my effort to do art. I will paint a picture each day and show it to you. This is what I want to continue on. It may be true I don't like piano the best, but it will not be my favorite. Art is what you might see me doing more and I won't just randomly paint something I will work hard to improve my pictures each day. So, if you don't mind a little noise while you're working I will work inside the room. I like that a lot and I have seen that. So let me do art and never throw away my art kit or my paper pad.
Please forgive me!,
[your daughter who loves you no matter what] Sophie Wang
P.S I will play piano for fun.

Our Trip To Omaha
Last week we went to Omaha NE. We visited some cool places and spent Christmas there. It was really exciting and I enjoyed it. Though all thanks to my Mom and Dad's friends from college named 丹丹/dan dan and 张弛/zhang chi. This is a writing from my point of view of what we did.
On the day we came it was already the evening and our parents got ready the food. I OF COURSE didn't act like Nathan. I took Hershey off the car and cared for her. The 2 boys named Ian and Niles were 3 1/2 and 5. Ian was probably the only one interested in my hamster. He thought Hershey was really cute. Then after we ate dinner we all played for a while and went to sleep. Though before going to sleep 丹丹阿姨 set out cookies for Santa. Except I didn't believe in Santa, but if Ian and Niles still believed in him I had to follow along.
The next morning I woke up and quietly waited in bed. After a few minutes I couldn't take it anymore, I woke up and walked up stairs. To my surprise they were already wake waiting for us to open our presents. Then I called Nathan up and we all opened our presents. I got a small heart box with 2 sparkling hair clips inside shaped like a snowflake and a crown plus a necklace. Nathan and Ian got 'hot wheel' cars and Niles got 2 blue angel planes. We then settled down and ate breakfast. 张弛叔叔made me some noodles and I ate noodles for breakfast. Then since it was Christmas we went nowhere except for an asian restaurant.
Then came zo0 day. We went to the Henry Doorly Zoo And Aquarium located in Omaha. It only took about 15-20 minutes to get there since they lived in the city Omaha. After, we got into the zoo we went to the jungle part. We saw a lot of monkeys and birds. There were also some bats, tapirs, and other cool animals. Soon it was already lunch time and we went to the indoor cafeteria when we ordered our pizzas from another place. The grown-ups all had sandwiches and pizza left for the kids. We went to go see the last few exhibits and habitats and went to the IMAX station to watch a movie about sea life. 丹丹阿姨 and 张弛叔叔 were really nice and decided they would take care of Ian while we could have a little fun. We went to the last exhibit and the last exhibit was probably the stinkiest one. It was the desert habitat. Then Ian and Niles' Mom and Dad thought we should go to ' THE AMAZING PIZZA MACHINE' !
We came to the only pizza machine place in the US! Our parents went to go get us the cards which helped us keep track of our points and points to spend. I was so happy, I played a ton of games and won up to 144 points! Plus 10 extra I earned on my brother's card. It was really cool. There were cards that you had and they would keep record of your points. I got magic disappearing ink and glow in the dark cosmic stick ups just for 140 points! The manager rounded it down so I wouldn't have to try and earn more points to get and equal amount. Though before I bought my prizes we went to the buffet at the back. I ate 3 slices of pizza, a bowl of pasta, some veggies, and ice cream! Soon it was time to go home.
It was kind of the last day for us and we went to a children's museum. It wasn't that high leveled, but still pretty good. There was a bubble show going on and I thought it was pretty interesting. I didn't know if you used special gloves you could touch the bubble!!!! Well, pretty much it.
The next day we went home! 丹丹阿姨 and 张弛叔叔 carried Ian and Niles in blankets to wave good bye. And on the way did a lot of other cool things.
That was my story of my trip to Omaha!

We are going to Omaha and this year we won't be at home. I really wanted to be at home, but guess what. So, I thought if I wanted a present I should get it a little earlier instead of later. Then I decided to set the plan into action. First I went online to find what I want and of course I want a craft thing so I went to Michaels.com . Then BOOM : ) I found something! Which was the Kit thingy.
Then I had to write a nice note so I could persuade Daddy to get me what I wanted, even though I know he'll definitely get it for me.
Next I had to hide the note somewhere he would usually go and we would usually not. At first I thought of the bathroom, but it would probably be to easy to find. And if I hid it in his shaving drawer it would take forever for him to shave his beard again to find the note. After a day I thought of his drawer where he put his clothes. He would find it in the morning.
DING DING!!!THE NEXT MORNING I GOT WHAT I WANTED/ today !!!! Now I'm writing this and we're getting ready for Omaha! I'll tell you what it's like in my next post.

Making Gingerbread Houses At May And Gayla's House
On Sunday I went to May's and Gayla's house to make a gingerbread house.
There were 9 kids there:
May/Gayla's B sis
Gayla/May's L sis
Sophie/Me
Ryan/Steven's B bro
Steven/Ryan's L bro
Steven/1:00 younger Twin
Lauren/1:00 older Twin
Anwen
Richard
It was really fun, we all got different kinds of gingerbread house making kits. We all made something cool. There were different sets of kits that we used, but to plan it all out we did a raffle. The designs were really cool and everything was a great success except for the frosting.
The other part [playing Ryan's game] was not fun. He was mean to the 2 Stevens and everyone followed him. He was a preteen and being the oldest out of all of them he had to be a good leader. I think it wasn't really fair, so I was on both teams.
Then we watched Harry Potter, it was pretty good. I got 3 slices of Alfredo pizza and then everyone said goodbye.

Our AWANA bake sale!
At our Awana bake sale we raised up to $209.81 and almost sold everything out in one night! This is how it went.
First, Sobe/Awana leader said that we needed to wash our hands and load the food on to the tables. Then we started to make our signs I was the one who wrote them and everyone else matched the prices. We were all in charge of different things and the bake sale begun. Our family made the rice muffins, though they were kind of messed up. So to make it up we also made some Angel Food Cake. Every one liked it a lot and a girl named Yingqi said it tasted SUPER good. That I was happy about. [That was when the bake sale already started.]
Our first costumer came and it bought some eggs and the porridge that Sobe made. It was really good!!! There were Richard's cake rolls, [that I didn't get to taste] jello, tropical fruit, lemon cake, regular baked bread, and tons of other stuff.
Soon we raised more and more. I was really glad that we got that much money. We needed to handle money the food and the costumers. There were still stuff left to sell on the table. Wenhao/another Awana leader decided we should bring down the price to 50% off or only $1. After almost everything was sold out. We counted the money and all of our hard work goes into good.

We have tried to make the muffin. Definitely delicious. But I want to make some changes to the recipe.
Ingredients:4 eggs (I would use only 2 eggs),1/3 cup sugar,1/2 cup cooking oil (I feel this is too much. Maybe 1/4 cup is enough),~ 2 cups (0.5lb)sweet rice flour (maybe called sticky rice, glutinous rice) ,1/2 cup milk,1 teaspoon baking powder
0. Preheat oven to 375°F
1. mix rice flour and baking powder
2. mix eggs, milk, cooking oil and sugar
3. add mix 2 into mix 1, mix well
4. put mix into paper cups
5. bake 20 minutes or until the muffins turn golden color.
They were a great success!!!! People liked it

We made better ones a few weeks ago! They looked way better than the ones before.
