Back to mommy

I can tell you those things! I might forget, though I'll tell you when I can. Then tell me if you really want me to do it.

(Almost) every parent is talking about kids starting school now (by mommy)

First day of Kindergarten for Nathan. This morning, Sophie and Nathan walked to school hand in hand. I am so worried about Nathan. Will he be fine the in school? Will he get lunch? Will he listen to his teacher? Can't wait till he come back home.

Easier to say than to do (by mommy)

Everyday, I am telling my two kids,
"You can do it!"
"You can do it yourself."
"You just need to calm down, concentrate and learn, and then you will be able to do it."
"It is not that hard at all. Let's give it a try."
"See! Isn't it great that you have learnt how to ... You will never need help from others to do ... now. "
"There is no use to cry. You can fix the broken train track easily."
"You are bored? There are so many interesting things to do."
"Let's read together!"
"Go read a book."
"Have you...?"
"Dinner time!"
"Bed time!"

I kind of wish somebody tells me these all the time.

Another Hamster And After That [maybe]

Since the best hamster in the world has said goodbye, I've decided to get a new one from 'pet world'.
Yesterday, I was deciding that we could go to 'pet world' to buy a new hamster and go to the special event, called 'Feature Creature'. This time the animal they were showing was the Chinchilla. They usually never let you touch them, not like the other small mammals. But this time they will let you because it's for 'Feature Creature'. My mom said yes cause she really wanted to pet the Chinchilla. So, we went.
When we got to the pet store, I immediatly went to the hamsters. We thought there would be new hamsters since a couple of weeks before, but still the old hamsters. I really wanted to get one that exact day. Then I looked at them for a long time and when I was still deciding, 'Feature Creature' started.
It was really cool. We got to touch them, and we learned 2 cool facts!:
1. 1 of our human hairs is equal to 60 Chinchilla hairs
 2. They bathe in crushed lava rock.
After that we got to watch the Chinchilla take a dust bath. Then it was over.
When we were about to go, my mom said we'll wait another week to see if there are any more new baby hamsters that 'pet world' has. Last time we went to 'pet world' there was a lady who told us that baby hamsters only come when the hamsters they have right now, are gone. I was really upset, though we were going to 'Freddy's' to get a free ice cream!
Since 'Dillons' was near by my mom decided that we could go and get some stuff that was on sale. There was bread that was on sale, 5 for $5. Also watermelon. Then we noticed there was this other big sale that when you bought 5 of the things that were marked with the sign, you could get $5 off those 5 things. And we decided to do it. When we were done shopping, I went to the self-checkout. We needed help scanning the watermelon and the coupon, but otherwise I did fine. My little brother punished for running around in the store and not listening. On our way to 'Freddy's!
Then the ice cream! We ate all of it by our self, and my mom was really suprised. I was thinking she wanted some.
This is a story of me trying to get a hamster.

School

It's almost time for the school year to start. Me and my little brother have all our school supplies ready and there are only 3 more days until school starts. We already know a few new kids.
We are all very excited, especially me When school starts there are more things to do and you won't be bored. One thing I'm happy about is that there is still this kind of buck/money thing. At Farmland ES you use 'sparkies', at Sunflower you use 'eagle bucks'. You also get to have 3 parties in 1 school year! There was a teacher that we saw on our tour through the school. She was very friendly, so I think that the other teachers will be nice to! The new way my school is arranged is very weird, though I like it. It's in a circle, and there are different grades in the same pod.
My little brother might have a hard time understanding with a lot more classrooms.[At least more than the classrooms at pre-k]My family is very worried about Nathan/my little brother because he has a hard time paying attention, and he looks different from the other kids. Sometimes the kids there are very mean. I hope there will be a few nice kids that will be willing to make friends with Nathan and me. The school doesn't have much teachers, I think my old school has more teachers because the school is way better than Sunflower ES.
There you have it. The things I'm happy about and what I'm dissapointed about. though I'm still happy it's a school.

Trailer for my next post/blog

This blog/post is just a little trailer article. It is very short just like the trailer for very long movies like my long blogs/posts, so don't change your mind and think I'm not a strong writer. Okay here goes.
Tonight my dad is going to take me and my little bro to Downtown Lawrence to watch a movie called "Space Jam", and there is going to be popcorn! The thing is that it might rain! We might not be able to go and watch the movies, but I'll still tell you about what happend.
It's about a basketball player called "Michael Jordan" who decideds to team up with the worlds most popular cartoon, and save the world. The Looney Toons. Well that's all I know I hope you will watch it too! Bye!!

Swim Night With Just Mommy!

Yesterday evening, me and my mom went swimming together. Only the 2 of us, without Nathan, or Daddy.
It was an okay day, because I had my dentist appointment and my teeth still felt funny. It was a nice evening, because it was hot and we got to go to the swimming pool for 2 dollar tuesday. We got prepared and at the very last minute my little brother wanted to go! We asked him all day and he said: "No" and now he wanted to go. My dad said he couldn't because he wasn't going and no one else would take care of him because me and Mommy already decided it was me and her. So then we left.
When we got to the swimming pool, we had to wait for the person to be done calling, so the person in front of us could go and then we could go. We went inside and then got ready to go swimming.
Of course the water was cold at first, but then we got used to it. I did the breast stroke for a while, and then free style. My mom was following what I did, and then I decided to go on the water slide. When I was done we agreed to go to the lap pool. The water is usually colder in the lap pool, so it also took us a minute to get used to it. We swam across 2 times and then decided to go back to the main pool. Then came the real mother and daughter time.
First we did the styles, and then I learned to do doggy paddle with my mom! My mom said that she thinks I am a little better than her. I think that no matter what she is always the best in my eyes. We did almost every thing together! I made up a new swimming style and much more! That was a great time. We actually swam the longest time possible, because it was almost closing and we even had time to shower!
We went home and saw Nathan and Daddy out side. They were full of sweat and we weren't hot at all. The great day with my mom!

My Trip to the Dentist

Yesterday, I went to the dentist. It was not fun at all. I had 2 tiny cavities, because I didn't go to the dentist for almost 4/3 years. It hurt a little, though the thing that helped my cavities tasted bitter. 2 of the dentists were helping my cavities, and the nurse took the x-ray of my teeth. I just don't like the dentist. Do you?

We went to Science City at Union Station!

Yesterday we went to Science City. We went all the way from Lawrence to Kansas City. It was quite worth the trip, and 2 of my friends were going too! There were lots of exhibits that we got to see and play.
There was one that we went to first, the mysterious Mr. E hotel. There were lots of optical illusions, and things that played tricks with your eyes. One example was that there was a sign and a red line was sort of flashing, but once you shook your head it would appear as a target then after a minute it would look like a question mark. There was another cool one. You need to stare at the circle that was spinning, for 20 seconds. Then look at something and it looks all fuzzy. There was a desk exhibit. You needed to find the most unusual places that open, though you don't think they open when you find out it does.
There is another exhibit, it's called a sky bike and it is on a rope. Then your supposed to ride on it and find out why you aren't falling. You can also tilt it and still stay on the bike, it was really cool!
The water exhibit was also nice, only I didn't play in it. My little brother did, because it was for younger kids.
There was an art studio where you could paint neon glow in the dark paintings. You could create any type of picture that you wanted, and take it home after you let it dry for about 45 minutes in the museum.
Another attraction was the nature center, it had a few animals you've never seen before. There were 2 parrots, a few parakeets, frogs, turtles, a gecko, rabbits, and much more! One cool thing about one of the parrots is that it can say "Hello".
One after another, we went to the tree house. It showed you different types of birds and the songs or sounds that bird made. There was also a wobbly bridge that you could walk on, my little brother liked it very much.
We also visited the magnet discovery area. The staff member would be there to show you how to experiment with them, and you could find out why it was doing that. Though there aren't alot of people that like or want to try.
I don't know if my little brother went to the kinder lab or not, but it was for kindergarteners. And I'm not a kindergartener, so I really don't know what it's like.
There was also a power exhibit. They would let you make power in different ways for different things that needed that power. [But of course, the things that needed power were just for you to look at] Some ways to power it was by biking to run the light bulb, running to run the light, and turning the handle to run a small model of the city.
There was also a place where you could see how things looked like when they went backwards by turning the wheel. There was also a lever that you could pull and see how force works. They would also let you test out balls that have different weights, and test them on different tracks.
I really dislike the place where you learn the history of trains. The train doesn't really let you do anything, but guess what, there are 2 moving trains and my brother just won't stop looking at it.
One of my favorites is the place where it can take picture of your shadow and you can see that your shadow looks different, from your real self.
There was also just a play place. A regular indoor playground, that almost nobody played in. We only played there for a while at the end.
We also went to this place where you had to find 5 different ways to play music. I only found 3 because nothing else looked like it could play music or could play music.
The space attraction was nice too! You got to see what your weight would be on the moon, try to land a space shuttle, what it looked like in the rocket ship or space shuttle, and different facts about different things in space.
My friend went to the dino exhibit, but I only took a look. There was a place that you could find fossils, and look at a model of a dinosaur.
Well I hope you go to science city and look around! Hope you enjoyed!
